11th April 1954, according to existing digital database, was the most uneventful day of human history so far. On that day nothing significant happened. So “boring“ that radio host announced there was no news to be podcasted.
Lee looked through national news paper archive and found this day has been perhaps intentionally skipped. She started collecting news paper of that particular date from English and newspaper archives of other languages and making poetry and collages from the original text. Poem of Emptiness is one of the pieces, an intervention of recorded history. The poem, composed from the articles by black ink, gradually revealed itself as if a timeless monologue in one’s mind, running away from the present, constantly longing for news popping out from our smart phones.
